Children's Ministries
Our goal for Children's Ministries is to support parents in the nurturing of their children in the Christian faith and to create a faith community for children and their families--an environment that fosters Christian formation.
Our children's programs include Sunday School classes during the school year, informal Sunday School activities during the summer, an annual Children’s Christmas Pageant in December, nursery/child care on Sunday mornings throughout the year, a week-day Parish School for preschoolers and a week-long Co-op Vacation Bible School in the summer. Children's Ministries also make age-appropriate devotional materials available for families during Advent and Lent.

Our children's ministries coordinator, Leslie Huber, is available to answer questions about the following programs. Please call her at the church office (805/969-4771) or email Leslie at leslie@allsaintsbythesea.org.

Sunday School
Sunday School classes for preschool through sixth grade meet during the first part of the 10:00 a.m. service. Children gather before the service for their classes, then join their families in church at the Peace to share in the Liturgy of the Table with the entire church community.
Adults and youth are invited to participate in the Sunday School program as teachers, aides, workshop leaders, substitutes, craft helpers, and musicians.

Children’s Christmas Pageant
Our annual Christmas Pageant is held at the 10:00 a.m. Eucharist on either the 3rd or 4th Sunday of Advent. Under the guidance of a volunteer director, children re-enact the Christmas story through music, drama, and narration. They practice during Sunday School and on Saturday morning(s) before the pageant.
Parents and friends help by rehearsing lines with the children, sewing and fitting costumes, preparing scenery and props, and supervising children during rehearsals.

Children in Church
Children are always welcome in our services and are encouraged to receive either a blessing or the sacrament during communion. Children’s Worship Bulletins, soft toys and books are available from the ushers.
The Vesting Room, through the arched door near the pulpit, is a comfortable place for parents and young children. The room has a sofa, toys, books and craft supplies and is equipped with a sound system so that worshippers can participate in the service.

Child Care
Nursery care is provided during the 10:00 a.m. service every Sunday. Our dedicated nursery staff cares for babies and toddlers up to 3 years old in our sunny and spacious Baby/Toddler Room, located between the Parish Hall and Parish School.
On Sundays when there is no Sunday School, child care for 3 to 6 year olds is available in the Bears Room of the Parish School until the children join their families in church at the Peace.

Summer Sunday School
Our two Summer Sunday School classes (for ages 3-6 and 7-12) meet during the first part of the 10:00 a.m. service. Children gather for class before the service and then join their families in church at the Peace. Summer Sunday School activities include Bible stories and videos, arts and crafts projects, beach walks, cooking, music, creative movement and more.
Adults and youth are invited to participate as teachers, mentors and helpers.
